CR-180 Transport is dead, reset transport

Customer was scanning checks, received false jam indication, reset scanner to ready; attempted scanning, received 5 or 6 more false jam errors, then scanner said Transport is dead, reset transport and reboot computer... Do not have a CR-180 service manual, so does anyone know how the clear this error?
    Thanks

Well, I don't know how much this will help as I don't actually know what that machine is. I did work on check scanning microfilm cameras back in the day though, and I have a couple of general purpose suggestions that you might wish to consider.
Sometimes the perforations on checks don't work as planned, as such they are prone to leaving small scraps of paper in the transport area. Double check that there isn't one stuck in the machine. Also, the perforated edge of checks will produce a lot more paper dust than regular paper, especially if that scanner doesn't have a perfectly straight transport. Try giving the sensors in the transport area a good blast of canned compressed air.
    Hope that helps.
If not, call me rude names or something, I guess I probably deserve that for wasting your time.

If you have a chance, let me know how that went.
I looked up CR-180 on Google, is that machine a Canon imageFORMULA CR-180? If so, if you haven't checked Canon's consumer website for that machine ( Canon U.S.A. : Support & Drivers : imageFORMULA CR-180 Check Transport ) you might look there. It could help.

Turned out to be a computer software glitch, nothing wrong mechanically with the check scanner.
A couple of reboots, etc., and all was well.
          Thanks for the follow-up.
