Need help connecting to Mac

Hi all

I am new to this forum and new to scanner/photocopier. I have a mac (yosemite) and a ricoh mpc5000. I tried setting up scan to folder using smb but with no luck. I could not browse my computer from ricoh nor can it connect to my mac when I type in the path (I have tried changing smb to smb 1 and smb 2/3 using smbconfig app). I read the forum saying that it could work using ftp. I don't know how to setup a ftp and I wonder is there a way to connect it to my mac using smb??

Thanks for the info, I tried what the info suggested but still with no luck, although I have not tried the FTP. I am hoping the FTP is the last resort and really hope that I can figure out how to connect them using smb. I tried changing the Ricoh mpc5000 to SMB 2 and had disabled my mac smb signing. I followed up on how to connect to my mac, added my login name and password as well as gave it my mac path (\\ip\scan) and it still couldn't connect, have anyone had this problem? and is there a fix to it?
