    Printing through Ipad

Client using toshiba e2540c which is not an AirPrint supported model. But client insisted that they able to print from Ipad using AirPrint for couple of months, after IOS auto update then cannot detect the printer...
The Ipad is running ios 8.4.1 (12H321)

Previously the toshiba e2540c firmware is T140HD0W4003, I've tried update to T140HD0W4122 but no avail...

When using ebridge Print & Capture app on android to print, is working fine...

But when using ebridge Print & Capture app on Ipad, the app cannot see any stored documents....Where by the pdf files can be open via Ipad...

I'm not a Mac users, and never use Ipad before...

    Re: Printing through Ipad

If the machine does not support airprint it shouldn't have showed up in the list of printers unless they had a airprint server hooked up on the network. I'm not familiar with Toshiba at all, but been a Mac User for quite awhile. I haven't seen any Air print issues for any of the models we work on since it's inception. In iOS there is really not a document storage folder per say, they usually have to be stored in an App ie Dropbox, iCloud, or iBooks(can only print via airprint don't think the Print mobile apps can access).

Usually the Camera roll is easily accessed via the Mobile Print App's, if you can print from there, the MFP and App are communicating properly. The million dollar question is if Airprint was working then why did it stop, most of time its a router change and either there are a few settings that be checked in the Router to enable Airprint to function properly or the Router itself does not support Bonjour/Airprint. I've ran into the Not Supporting the most usually it's a router provided by the Internet provider that is stripped down on functionality.

I probably was no help at all, the mobile printing thing has been a bit of a pain in my experience because of all the variables that popped up and not really any great ways to troubleshoot(that I'm aware off) Airprint seems to work pretty decent in my cases on iOS but on OSX I've had nothing but trouble with it.

Hammermill makes a free ( I think) app for both Apple and Android devices.

I have never tried it on my iPad, but my Android phone found and worked with a friend's HP machine.

Before I installed the app, I couldn't see the printer.

Have them try it on an iPad.

I recently ran into the same thing on a Canon using an external airprint device. The user iPhones were at ver 8.4 but after the recent firmware update to 9.0.2, they can no longer print via airprint. We verified this with an iPhone with ver 8.4 and another iPhone that was upgraded to 9.0.2 and would not print.

It sure is a real pain in the arse.End users expect to print anything seamlessly like they would on a desktop PC, but alas they can't. I suppose we also live in an era where people demand a lot, but don't realize the complexities involved in their demands.

Apple's AirPrint is probably the easiest mobile print solution, as it's there natively on the recent iOS's, supports many apps and is easy to use. Google really doesn't have anything that's as streamlined for users at the stage.
