I have an iMac running Leopard that I have connected to my home network. My home network is a Windows network and I am relatively new to the world of MAC.
Everything works perfectly between the MAC and the other computers, but I am having trouble with sharing. My MAC has a folder called PUBLIC and in that folder is a folder called DROP BOX. In addition to DROP BOX I created another folder called DOWNLOADS and enabled sharing on it giving read/write permissions to all users. Everything in the PUBLIC folder works perfectly across the entire network without any issues.
I decided I wanted to make the music folder for my iTunes music available on the network as well ... so I enabled sharing for the folder and in the SETTINGS / SHARING section I included the folder in the list of shared resources. I also enabled read/write for all users. However, the only folders visible on the network are the ones in the PUBLIC folder.
Am I doing something wrong, or is it only possible to share folders from the PUBLIC folder on a Windows network?
