    Windows 10 Annoying Bug

    Not really copier related but...

As far as I can tell from doing my research, this has been around since the technical preview, and even before hand in windows 8.1 and yet they still don't fix it - I've heard of several people complain about their start button not functioning either by clicking on it, or pressing the windows button on the keyboard. Also, "modern apps", or whatever the term is for them now, don't open. Their are several fixes and one of them always works, but the normal person isn't going to know what to do when this happens. Up until recently, this hasn't happened to me.

Any idea why they refuse to fix the problem?

I have been using W10 since the tech alfa. I have never experienced this bug. I changed the start button to act more like the W7 start and I don't use the touch interface or the metro-ish app system.

From what I have experienced they have been on top of bugs. Have you been updating?

On my personal computer I keep the automatic updates on and don't have the option selected to delay updates. On the computers I've fixed this on, some were fully updated, some weren't. In the cases that weren't, updating didn't solve the problem. Now my computer I updated from windows 7 pro and opted to keep my files. On one I fixed, it was a surface pro 4 they only had for a couple weeks and barely had anything installed on it.

Maybe it's not as widespread as I thought. Maybe it's just an Omaha thing. They're singling out us Nebraskans for some sort of stress test :P

I've seen the same issue happen with a laptop upgraded to win10. I think it is an issue but rare. It seems a factory reset will solve it.

Until they law is changed and forces software companies to put software back on a "CD" it will never change.

I go into a store and buy an virtually empty foot square box of cardboard that says Internet Security printed on it. I take it home I get a totally empty CD with nothing else on the CD except an html link with "click here" to install your new security software.
F....f...... F.... peeved. I don't have an internet connection on this PC dipsh!ts. So I take it back to the store with a please RAM this up someones attitude to the staff. OH!... and by the way, please pass my attitude along to the Virus ware company who supplied this to your store...
          Dear store staff:
If I have an internet redirection virus on my PC, I'm sure has heck not going to be downloading the latest virus software off the internet now am I ??? So how do I get clean virus ware if I can't buy it safely and securely off a store purchase CD ????? Mums and Dad internet uses will never be able to tell if their computer system is being abused while ever they download off the internet.

Sorry for the rant.... One of my software pet peeves.....

I find more and more that OS distributors & Big Box Hardware Manufacturers....Apple, Microsoft, Dell, etc. DO NOT include a physical CD/DVD with the Hardware. IMO this is completely RETARDED!

The only OS's that I run and have physical disk for are Windows 7, Ubuntu, & Linux Lite....I have a Mac too, but it has the older PowerPC architecture and I can boot that from a Firewire Hard Drive!

You might look into this for getting you out of "situations"!:

Boot and run Linux from a USB flash memory stick | USB Pen Drive Linux

I haven't tried it yet but am seriously inclined to!

              Re: Windows 10 Annoying Bug

I built my PC for windows 10. No CD bays and no spinning HDD's. I want to live in a world where I don't have to deal with slow archaic technology.

I bought W10 on a CD because it's cheaper than the usb version(understandable right?) and cheaper than the downloadable code(WHAA??!!)... I already had W10 and recovery software on a USB from the Microsoft website, the only thing I needed was the code. I'm still salty every time I look at my unopened W10 CD I had to buy, for my PC with no CD drive bay.
