Re: Ricoh MPC4000 can't connect to Mac
Not correct. I have moved P/S chips from one machine to another with no trouble at all. It is more than likely a MAC version issue. MACs are easier to install than Windows. Make sure Bonjour is on, download the PPD installer form Ricoh's website. Go to System Preferences, add printer (plus sign) and it will do everything by itself in a about 30 seconds.Comment

On MAC's, "default" is Bonjour. That can cause confusion when installing.Comment

Can you print PostScript to it from a Windows machine?
If you can, then you know PostScript is OK.
On the Mac, don't use the "default" queue; populate the field with "lp" (that's lowercase "ell pee").
I have found that leaving that field blank does not work.“I think you should treat good friends like a fine wine. That’s why I keep mine locked up in the basement.” - Tim HawkinsComment

You can also use 'print' for the print queue. It all gets redirected to the same place anyway.
I find it better to install the device as a HP JetDirect protocol device, otherwise the driver will constantly show the printer as paused.Comment

It's just that it used to be *lp*, and that has always worked for me.
I guess I must be showing my age.“I think you should treat good friends like a fine wine. That’s why I keep mine locked up in the basement.” - Tim HawkinsComment
