Setting up the Scan to Email for a Ricoh 1224c

Hello everyone I'm an avid fan of this forum (really) I usually find answers to most of the printing problems here but now Im stumped and I come to you for help.

I have a rioch aficio 1224c that I can do network printing on but now Im trying to setup the scanner so that it can email the documents to an email address but for some reason it doesn't work and I was wondering if anyone had any help and suggestions on how to set this up ?

    Thanks for your time.

You'll need to input the SMTP server name (or IP if it never changes) and the local DNS server/s. Also if you are using SMTP authentication, you'll need to input those credentials.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.

If I remember correctly you can only setup scan to email through the web interface on this older model.

For some reason they excluded the SMTP options from the touch screen menu.

I thought it was under the file transfer option in the user tools... I do believe that your right though now that I think about it, you can only program the SMTP server info in the web interface....

And dont forget to ad a key operator's email address if you are intending to turn on specify senders name...(ie, no need to select a sender because the key operator's email address is used as the sender).

You'll need the SMTP name or IP address. If you're using Outlook you can go into the email account options and view the current name. Don't forget to put in your DNS server as well. If you don't know it, open the command prompt and type "ipconfig /all" and then hit enter. Your DNS should be there. If it doesn't work with the SMTP name (I've seen this sometimes) you may need the IP address of the server. To find this, type "ping (your SMTP server name)" and hit enter. The IP address will be displayed with the packet status.
Also verify you are or are not using SMTP authentication and that your credentials are good. If it still doesn't work, try another known good SMTP server to bounce it off of.
