KM C558 not printing color from Mac OS

I have a customer with 5 C558 machines. They only use Mac/apple products (around 550 users). The onsite IT person says they may or may not get a color print even after making sure print instructions are correct. I believe the guy, he seems pretty sharp. He says if they power cycle the box it will work OK for a while then the issue reappears. They are not using account track. I have latest firmware on all 5 machines. He is using latest KM PS driver for Mac.
This is probably easy but I'm a Mac idiot. ????

Re: KM C558 not printing color from Mac OS

I had this problem with a C452, customer had nothing but macs, 30-40 workstations all different version of the os 10.6-10.10. It was a "bring your own device" type of place. Some were using the OEM driver some were using the Generic PS driver, some were set to IP print and some were using Bonjour. I disabled Bonjour set them up for IP print and installed the OEM driver. Problem when away

They have a Mac server and he loads drivers there and shares? Could Bonjour still cause this issue in that environment? He is using the latest KM driver.

      Again, I'm a Mac idiot...

Also, go into Safari, type in the URL "localhost:631" minus the quotes and choose that printer and look at the config defaults and see if color is available. The CUPS (Common Unix Printing System) web interface is the best way to access and set the defaults of the print driver itself! Good Luck!

Probably have to enable CUPS first,

          go to terminal
          paste "cupsctl WebInterface=yes"
          press enter

I've got my windows printer installation game down to a SCIENCE but macs, yuck.

....even Ubuntu Linux does a better job of installing a printer than Mac OS X!

We had this issue at our company too but in our case it was with account track. Konica Minolta says they will likely have to fix it with a future firmware release. It can also happen when printing from USB stick
