km scan utility problem

Hi all I was just wondering if anybody has come across a problem where the km scan utility software closes or locks up on windows 2003.I havent seen this problem on any other server.If the cutomer reboots the server the program runs in start up and may not cause a problem for a few weeks.I have removed and reloaded the software but it still happens every so often.I think it is caused by their server but would like to know if anybody has seen this.

is that word 2003? if it is then SP1 for office 2003 caused a bug in that the twain device name cannot be longer than 16 charaters or it will crash.
if its the o/s 2003 server then I have no idea sorry

not sure exactly what you are referring to here. If you are trying to set up the little KM ftp server scan utility on a computer running Windows Server 2003...dont bother. KM states that it wont work on that build of windows. Luckily, there is an embedded ftp server that works just as well in Server2003, it just has to be enabled/installed under add/remove programs (and then configure the permissions/rootfolder/etc.)

I have set up scan to file on a windows 2003 server.The scan utility software appears to lock up resulting in an - "unable to connect to pc " message.If the server is rebooted or the utility is closed and reopened it starts running with no problems for sometimes up to a month.Hope this explains the problem.

Did you install the SFU for server 2003 or just the regular?

Hi just the regular version .I have been looking for an updated verion on the kyocera site but havent seen one just for 2003 server.I have tried sfu 3.9.12 but couldnt get it to scan once so I was going to revert back to the original version i tried.
