Ricoh MP301 scan to folder windows 8.1

Can someone please give me some recall on what needs to be done when SMB scanning from a MP301 to windows 8.1?
Here is what I have done:
    Update ALL firmware to latest
    setup folder with Read/Write permissions
Set inbound rules on computer to allow from MFP IP address

The computer can be seen when browsing from MFP but will not authenticate.
User name and PW are correct
    Firewall is OFF
I have seen this before when 8.1 was new but can't recall what else it takes.
    Thanks

Share with user name and password. Check security that user has full control

On the MP301 goto System Settings, Network tab, print list. In the SMB section check and see if there is a Client V3 listed. If not then the machine cannot do SMB V3. To enable V1 on the PC, using extreme caution of virus and malware, Programs and Features, Turn Windows features on and of, click all settings for SMB V1. Again keep in mind the SMB V1 is being disabled by Microsoft for a reason. Alternatives would be FTP and Email.

If you have the latest firmware for the MP 301 SMB v2&3 are enables by default, you can switch back to enable V1 in user tools or the webpage.
