    Data Recovery Software

Does anyone use a specific recovery software that's been good? I use a Blacx external dock for my hard drives.
I tried free versions of easeus and remo software, just wanted to put it out there if there are any favorites.

    Cobian Backup

In use since over 10 years. Does exactly what I need and is free.

Yes, I use Cobian too, both biz and personal, and works great for auto back up. But recently I needed to extract and recover files from a bad external drive and been taking days now. Did Cobian have a recovery to extract data, did not know that. thanks

SpinRite has always been a go-to for me for quite awhile. It's recovered everything I've thrown at it save for a physically damaged drive.

TestDisk is a good, free, and open source option: TestDisk - Partition Recovery and File Undelete
If you don't have access to an OS during recovery, it is also included with GParted Live: GParted -- Live CD/USB/PXE/HD

As a general rule, always leave the drive undocked until you are ready to recover, and never write the deleted files back to the same drive; doing so can overwrite other deleted files you may want to recover.

Does anyone have experience with EaseUS ToDo Recovery & Backup software? It appears to have a User Friendly interface, but I have found that Friendly GUI can mean a lack of technical options.

As for Recovery Software, I've used Recuva in the past.

Thanks for Reading and hope Recuva helps.
