I would print out the config page and see what you've got from there. Is this a new install? My first thought is to reset the Fiery to the factory settings and start over.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.
Samir: No, not again. I... why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to God, one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window.
Michael Bolton: You and me both, man. That thing is lucky I'm not armed.

sounds like a classic Bios failure on the motherboard. hook a chain to the machine and use is as a boat anchor.

        @cobiray

new install - yes and no
It was formerly installed and then moved to a private office.

I´ve got the admin guide for the fiery but no panel (the x2e is the internal fiery). So i have not the slightest idea how to rest the fiery - any hint?

I´ve just hoped that I could use the old settings and go in.

So I cannot print a config page of the fiery.
I got the fiery ip over my network and i can ping it - but nothing more.

        @buster68

        No way and never-

I really love the shining copies the minolta makes and so at last (or better at least ) it is a fantastic copier.

.... and with a weight of over 450 lbs built to last

But anyway- I really appreciate the speedy answers.

        Regards

How is your port configured on the PC? I think the port should be set up as LPR with the queue name of direct or print. Also enable byte counting.

          If that doesn't work...

If you use the controls and display on the front of the Fiery, you should be able to get to a PRINT PAGES portion to print the config sheet. Also in this menu is the SETUP menu. If you can print a config page, I'm going to assume the hardware is ok. Yu can print a color test page and job log through this menu too. If you are ok wiping it out, you can use the RESET DEFAULT (or something like that) in the set up menu.

I agree with Cobiray. Forget about trying to print over ethernet. Every embedded fiery Ive worked has a way to navigate thru the display to do a setup. From the fiery menu if you can generate an internal print it means that the pba is probably good and then its on to your connection. If you cant access the fiery menu its probably the fiery main pba. Good Luck!

Does it have a menu through the control panel? You should be able to get to it through there, I assume? We didn't sell any of the 910's but we had quite a few 900's with the external X-J's and Z-X's. Is that the print-only version?

The Fiery interface is pretty much unchanged in the last 10 years, so when you find it the directions should be the same. If you can get a config page out and scan it in, we can look at it to see if a setting needs changed. The only thing I can think is if it wasn't using TCP/IP and it was disabled in the set up.

Did it come from an XP environment at the previous location? I hate to ask, but have you swapped out the crossover cable?

I've never seen the queue's named anything other than print, direct and hold. I won't swear it won't work with what you stated, but the print and direct have always worked for me.

Maybe- but I got no control panel !

                  No- the x2e can scan

In my techfiles this was said:
                  Minolta
Fiery XJ, SI, and ZX 2100/3100 print_Copier-M
                  Fiery X2[E] print_PRN-M
                  DI181 PORT1 9100
                  DI250 PORT1 10001
                  PI6000 any name
                  PI6200 (Fiery) print

Most probably Windows XP (the minolta with the fiery is compatible by ms for windows xp).
And now I want to install it for my brother (carpenter with own workshop/small company).

Ok, by print only I mean you can't walk up with an original and make a copy. It's a network device only. Can you use it as a copier? If you can use it as a copier then it has a control panel.

Something curious, the user guide for the Fiery shows that it has a control panel of it's own somewhere. I'm shooting in the dark on this one since I've never seen one. But the CF910 was just the upgraded CF900, which I've seen. Never had my hands on this model Fiery unfortunately.

Sounds like you are missing the control panel that screws into the right hand side of the machine.

If you got this from a working enivronment, might be worth checking to see if the control panel is still about. Normally you have to remove these panels to get the copier through doorways, so I might have been forgotten.

Other wise, if you have the CD's that came with the Fiery, then install Command Workstation. That way there will be a menu that will make the Fiery print out a 'Configuration Page' once you get Command Workstation connected to the device.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

                        Hi,

ok- now I hoped I could finally described my problems in the right expressions.

I can use the minolta as copier
I can not use the minolta as printer or scanner
I can not get acces through ethernet to the fiery
As I got the sole machine without any additional items I have no control panel (external, additional control panel - the fiery can run without it) for the internal/embedded fiery
                        I can ping the fiery
I can not enter the fiery setup (websetup over ip)

So I need an control panel (difficult to send it via email )
Or the settings for the ethernet connection- just now I can not determine if my connection is wrong or the fiery is out of order.

BTW I got a copier panel and the minolta makes marvellous copies.

                        Regards
                        Raphele

Have you tried Command Workstation yet? You can run the setup through Command Workstation.

Other wise, here are the setting for the Standard TCP/IP Port for that you need for the print driver to talk to the device.

                          LPR
Queue name of 'print' or 'direct' - preferabley print
Tick the box that says 'LPR Byte Counting'
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

If it doesn't have a Platten Glass then it would be a CF911p not a CF910. On those you set the Fiery up using a 2 line LCD Screen in the middle of front panel.

The CF910 with the internal Fiery had a LCD panel bolted on the right side of the copier.

Hi, as mentioned in other replies you require the fiery control panel to access the fiery if you have network problems, These are often removed when the machine is being relocated as it just screw onto the right hand cover and connects directly via a lead to the fiery, without it you cant reboot the fiery or get a config report, the control is about 3 inch square the a cable and i think a earth strap.
