    CN3102e Problem

I have a CN3102e. It's not recognising the printer/copier it's connected to (CF-3102), even though it's properly connected and I can see it from both the network and the through-copier "LCD" controls. The web config pages look like the attached image. The Network config page in Admin on the copier control panel doesn't exist, but the "fake LCD" contols work.

Do I need to reload the system software to get back the Minolta customizations? If not, where is the setting to fix this?

I'm not sure what you mean fully, but I will try to help here.

Because the CN-3102e (Fiery print controller) is built by a company called EFI (Electronics for Imaging) for the Minolta, it has its own interface.

If you can view it through the copier control panel, then the machine and Fiery are talking to one another. On the Web Interface, you will find a box called 'Web Tools'. This is for the Fiery as the Minolta doesn't actually control the NIC and some other functions of the Fiery.

Mostly you will find that you can't print to these because 'Port 9100' is disabled as a default. Go into the Fiery screen (through the copier control panel) and change this by going to Menu - Run Setup - Network Setup - Service Setup - Port 9100 and enable to print to the 'Print" queue.

The other thing you can do is install a program called 'Command WorkStation' which monitors the Fiery as far as printing progress is concerned. You can also get in to the setup of Fiery through the utility.

If you can post a copy of the config page, then I should be able to help further if required.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

Reloading System Software or if it's a typical Fiery, replacing the hard drive and then reloading system software often is the solution to most Fiery connectivity issues.

      1. System Software and Patches

      2. If you attempt to install System Software and are having no luck.
Replace the Fiery Hard Drive and then install System Software and Patches.

Hard Drives can be replaced with any generic hard drive that is equal to or larger in size.

Example: 20 GB Fiery hard drive
40 GB generic hard drive replacement

This also applies to MFP's in the following brands:

      Konica Minolta
      Ricoh
      Kyocera
      Kip IPS Controllers
      Fiery Controllers
