    SBS 2011R2

    Hi Guys,

I just wandered over from the Konica Minolta forum to post here.

This query isn't copier or printer related in any way though.
I'm just hoping one of my fellow techs could shed some light on the issues I am having,

We are on a SBS2011R2 domain, I am a Standard User with Permissions setup to allow me to access certain files on the Server. All good so far.
Here is the problem, if I type \\Server in to file explorer I get a pop up telling me the user cannot be found. However, if I type \\192.168.1.200 i get straight through to the same place that \\Server should take me to.
If I log on to another PC with my credentials \\Server works fine.

I have elevated my user role to Administrator, but still can't get to \\Server.
Tried removing my PC from the domain and then adding it agian, no joy.
I haven't tried deleting myself from the Server and adding myself again because my credentials work on another PC.
Have checked that my PC and the other one I tried has the same DNS info in, they do.

I'm kinda at a loss. Anyone got an idea of what i should do next?
    Thanks

What OS is your client PC's ?

i have had a horrible time with windows 10 playing nice with SBS2k11 which is what our server is.
All my new technicians laptops are 10 (which is a crappy slow bloated pile of turd of an OS) and I gave up getting them to log into the domain.

Not much help, but keep in mind that Small Business Server 2011, which is just a variant of Server 2008 R2, will go end of life in January along with Windows 7, Server 2008, and 2008 R2.

          Try flushing the DNS cache.

          CMD as admin or PowerShell

          ipconfig /displaydns
          ipconfig /flushdns
          Whatever

Ok, I used the commands you suggested, but alas still no joy.
Thanks for the suggestion. At least it's ticked off another thing that it isn't. Eventually we'll find out what's going on.

From the questionable computer, if you run the command nslookup followed by the name of the server does it give you the correct IP and information?
