Have had a problem for the past week that after installing printers on PC's. Same issue from multiple Windows versions. The printers won't show up in Devices and Printers folder until we reboot the PC's. Brand of MFP doesn't matter. Adding from server or via ip address doesn't make a difference. Printer drivers are listed in Print Server Properties and printers are listed in Device Manager. Hate the idea of rebooting client PC's just to install printers. Restarting print spooler or waiting it out have been tried. Anyone have a work around or suggestion?

Master Sparkee, looks like you covered most of basics and I'm afraid bsm is right on living with it waiting for a next M$ update to correct what they screw up.

Re: Print ques won't show up in Devices and Printers
If the printers are installed on and shared from a file/print server, immediate rebooting may not be an option. Scheduling down time will be necessary. If a customer has an IT or IT service, it is best to have them install the drivers. Protects your ass in case of a problem.Comment

Re: Print ques won't show up in Devices and Printers
I've had something similar happen three times today installing a kyocera MFP. I install the print driver and the copier shows up under the unspecified devices section and shows a message that the device is installing. It seems to take forever to install but eventually finishes. While it is doing this I can't access any properties or remove it. I had to just leave it and come back later to see if it finished.Comment

I noticed that in Print Management it does show the print queue if in Devices and Printers doesn't show up. As stated up, windows restart solves itDefects are simple, our mind is complicatedComment
