    Ricoh Card Authentication Manual

    Hello

I would like to ask you for some guidance. I need to install and configure a card reader on MPC xx02 series but have no idea where to find a manual for that. The goal is to use a card instead of typing a PIN to unlock the device. I do have access to MyRicoh but can't find the appropriate training.

Will be very grateful for any help.

What software program are you using that requires the pin?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

I use what's built in MFPs (user accounts) without any additional software.

Yeah, it's there. Under the '03 series, look for:

Thank you for the link, this helped with the installation of the reader (machine displayed info about incompatibility but I guess 5844-100 will do the trick) but what's next? Do I need some soft for the most basic (just to unlock the device) usage of the reader? I'm sorry for asking all of this but I'm in the blind spot and have no idea how to set it all up.

I believe for the "02" series and older machines you will need the Card Authentication Package software. This is a paid package from Ricoh. "03" and newer with the Smart Operation Panel has a simple card authentication software built into the system.

Thank you a lot, this clarifies some things now. I noticed that on MyRicoh site there is or was indeed some info about Card Authentication Package but, at least for me, it contains no entries. I recall checking the Security Solutions tab before but didn't notice small error message saying "unable... and no entries found". I have access to 03 series so I'll take a look at them.

              One more time thank you.
