Ricoh - Limit maximum quantity in print jobs

Hello there, folks.

Is there any way of limiting the maximum quantity when printing (like there's for copying)? I've skimmed through the manual and the machine options, but couldn't find any clue - maybe I'm being a bit daft.

The machine in question is a MPC3004, but I guess it could apply to others...

Are you referring to User Account Limits? If so it is very much the same as for copying. Just follow the instructions in the security manual as there are a few extra steps for printers. Be sure to set to stop job when limit is reached instead of the default of continue current job.

Sorry to hijack this one. I'm mrwho's colleague.

We're looking for something like this but for print jobs:

Max. Copy Quantity

The maximum copy quantity can be entered between 1 and 999.

Default: [999 sheet(s)]

Our customer wants to prevent users from printing more than 10 sets of a print job.

You may need to look into one of Ricoh's solution software such as Device Manager NX or a third software solution. Ricoh Solution Support Team should be able to assist you.

I'm pretty sure this is possible with Papercut or WELP, but, as always, the customer doesn't want to spend any money. It may also work with some kind of Powershell script.

I'll contact Ricoh to see if they can help.

Quick update:

I've talked to Ricoh and they say it's not possible without some external software like Equitrac, Papercut or something like that.

Hi there!

Just to let you know, I ended up suggesting to the client the Hold/Locked Print options, because when the job is released a screen appears to confirm the quantity. Although it is not what the customer wants, at least it gives the users an extra step to prevent large quantities from being printed.
