At this point, I'd not even worry about 10x. It will go the way of Windows RT, Windows S mode, and every other similar variant Microsoft has tried. It may exist for a few edge cases but for the most part, business customers are going to stay with Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise and home users are going to be sold machines with Windows 10 Home.

It's just another play for the Chromebook market so I can see it getting a potential foothold in schools, but outside of that it's just not going anywhere.

Frankly I can't stand windows 10 and if the next release isn't 10 times better I will switch to Linux.. to hell with that perverts OS.

Considering Bill Gates hasn't had any day-to-day role with Microsoft in over twenty years you may be barking up the wrong tree...

Windows 10 overall has been incredibly stable in most of the environments I see, and shockingly enough, there actually is a full fledged Linux kernel within the newer versions of the OS through WSL2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux, Version 2).

Linux is a great OS until you hit a machine with Broadcom hardware and then all bets are off in terms of how long it will take to get networking going.
