Just download webdavnav server from the appstore and run that. Way easier and more consistent than SMB in an OSX environment.

Scan to folder on MAC/OSX 10.13 and above

That thread sould help you out!

My apologies, looks like Ricoh needs a special SD option card for webdav features. Wont work without it.

Macs use sbmv3 for scan to folder comms. I have not succesfully been able to get a ricoh to scan to folder on a mac. Wish i could be of more help.

Re: Ricoh MP6004ex Scan to macbook

This would be my suggestion. Use FTP for macs. We are also running into more issues with SMB3 and Ricohs. I don't believe Ricohs do a pure SMB3. Not that it matters, but here is my thread for SMB3 issues with a business. Ricoh smb scanning with end to end encyrption

If the customer allows it, try FTP. If they don't know what FTP is, do it. There are internal security risks, just explain the risks to them. But in a small office scenario, I don't think the risk is that big of a deal.

I've gotten into catfights with the experts who say SMB1 sort of thing is insecure. I will agree it is very insecure. But it is the way to go if scan to folder doesn't work. I would like to compare it to a small village of 20 people in Alaska who never lock their doors at night and New York City where everyone has 10 locks on the door. If it is a small office and people just want to make things work easily, I will activate SMB1 on Windows after explaining the risks to the customer, if nothing else works. Every business is different, some need the security, others do not.

I have run into several larger businesses where they have SMB1 active and sending emails on port 25. I was shocked. Talking to the IT, they know the risks, but the restrictions on data transfer cause more stress on their network and personnel than not. Things need to work.

Lets face it, anyone can get a keylogger, sneak it into someone's computer in a small office and eventually look at private documents, etc. I would consider that to be more of a risk than somebody figuring out how to use something like Wireshark and intercepting an SMB1 transmission.

You can throw your rotten tomatoes now please

Review this post and follow Marvin's added comments that I forgot to add..its a very important part on getting SMB to work on a MAC. This is on the CTN Ricoh site and once its done it is more reliable SMB connection than a PC

Mac scan to ricoh MP 5004 or MP4054

There is also the possibility that you can scan to the Document Server and use WIM to retrieve the document.
