    Scan and translate paper documents

I am looking for a solution to scan paper documents from a copier into a different language?

I often use Google Translate to translate words and phrases, maybe a paragraph but never an entire page or pages?

    Any ideas?

When you open Google Translate there should be an option at the top near the left for Documents. Click that, select the output language, click the browse button and open the scanned document.

I need to scan entire paper documents that do not exist in electronic format. Therefore, I cannot copy and paste or upload into Google Translate.

Hundreds of words and convert them automatically from one language to another.

Most decent OCR programs can scan from a scanner /MFP using TWAIN, or even watch a folder, where you could push scan from the MFP into.

Most of them also have the choice of the output language.

FWIW, MS Word also has a translate function, although I can't say I've ever tried it.

Tons of good OCR apps to choose from. Happy shopping.

A couple of good ideas especially about MS Translate which I was unaware of.

          Thanks,

Toshiba has released eConnect Translate. A free app that you install within your eBridge Next copier that connects via API to Google Translate.

The user must purchase the inexpensive Toshiba OCR license which rips the document on one of the copier's dual cores.

I find it amazing to scan in a paper document, have it automatically translated and then printed out in a different language.

Like any OCR, the translation may not be perfect, so I scan the translated document again this time into a docx file, correct any formatting errors and run the spell checker in that language.

Canada is a multi-lingual nation so I am excited about the sales opportunities.

This copier app will knock your socks off! You can quickly translate and print from any East European language to whatever language you want via Google Translate.

What language do you want? English to ?

So you find the perfect app in the end? Or you already knew about it and now you just promote it here after scoping what else everybody have to say?

I am beta testing the 2nd release of a new app from Toshiba. I am looking for different ideas and feedback.

                      I already got a couple.

What East European language would you like me to translate a document into?

... I picked random text from English to Lithuanian, translated in approx 15 seconds. For any brand of copier, Amazing!

Canada wide and my local sales territory is officially bilingual. English/French. I perceive this free app as a unique selling feature that is not hard to install with nothing to maintain.

There are several other methods available to translate but this method is very convenient.

Depending on the volume of translations, both Google Translate and Microsoft Translate, do eventually charge a small amount for their services.
