Remote Desktop is likely not using the same driver that is installed locally or the printing preferences are different in one than the other.

Most likely the driver on the remote computer is set for a much lower resolution, like 300 dpi versus 1200 at the local.

I'm having a similar issue with my ImageRunner C5535. This issue started happening after January 5th of this year. Prior to this it was the same result regardless of print method. Drivers and firmware are up to date.

It seems anytime I print with Airprint (phone, tablet, desktop, computer) the quality of the print is much too dark, looks like the exposure is way off. Similarly colors are strange too. When I print LPD, it comes out much better/closer. I feel like there's two issues here.
        1. with Airprint, I don't know where/how adjust any resolution settings as there are very few preferences one can change. and
        2. I tried printing from a USB hard drive directly connected to the printer and it also had the same low resolution quality as the Airprint.

        Any help is greatly appreciated.

The issue of AirPrint producing dark and inaccurate colors may be due to AirPrint using a generic driver with limited control over settings such as resolution and color calibration. Check the printer-side color calibration settings in the printer's web interface.
