Miracle Service and Kyocera Fleet Services

I've been trying to get the Duplo and Legos that I have been given to connect to each other, I'm struggling here.
From everything I can see, KFS integrates directly with ONLY eAutomate. Miracle Service I have seen some people mention switching to so they can lower their costs. I was given these tools and told to make it work. I Love KFS, it has its problems but its so far better than any other system ive seen that tries to do what it does. I'm not a huge fan of Miracle Service especially since its just a very thinly veiled Microsoft Access program SQL Database that feels behind the times.
Miracle service says "We dont integrate with any system because thats too hard so we can only import meters in through csv email attachments." You would think KFS could export meters as a csv. Apparently not really, you have to put in a dummy eAutomate server to get the meter export service to run and create a sort of broken output that technically has meters in it.
I have asked miracle service, they suggest asking my Kyocera Rep. I asked kyocera tech support and they tell me that mostly everybody uses eAutomate with KFS so there isnt really another way to do it that they can help with.
Has anybody else worked with Miracle Service or gotten KFS to export meters without eAutomate?

This is a GREAT question, and one that I will be following! We use Miracle as well and have asked the same types of questions regarding integration, unfortunately, we have not had the time to dive into this issue 😔

    Good luck!

Alright, Here is what I have so far. I was blinding myself by staring at the Meter export function. You have to use "List Reports" from the normal devices screen. You create a template and have it give you the meters you need.

Then you need to create schedules that apply those templates. Select the template and what machines you want it to run on and then When you want it to run.
Miracle service support I think suggests running a report every 5 days but it may need a more granular time frame depending on when your meters need entered.
Ive heard from my boss that it might even need run every day of the month but selecting only the machines that are due on each of those days? maybe?

Once you have it able to generate and send out an email report with the CSV attached you have to work with Miracle service support to set up Meter Center. They need sample reports to be able to map the columns in the csv to the meters in your database. Currently I am at this step and haven't gotten Meter Center up yet but that is the general idea. MS Support is supposed to give me an email address to send my report CSV's to and the Meter Center Service will open the emails, Parse them, then delete the email.
Once it is set up it supposedly needs very low maintenance.
MS Says that it is done with the CSV Parsing so that they dont have to try to integrate with a bunch of programs and can just take reports from anywhere and collect meters that way. Theoretically Meter Center can also be used with clients sending in meters so long as it fits the format.
I have a feeling that it may be easier to set all of this up if you start from the beginning, trying to do it with already existing infrastructure just takes alot more time. I had to go through every machine in MS and update the names of the meters to be the same.

      TL;DR
The documentation isnt great on either side, but you can have KFS send reports to a parsing tool set up by MS support and meters will update automatically.

That is great work! I appreciate you posting the update and overview! We have someone collecting meters manually right now so this may be something to look into moving forward 😁
