Scan to Email in Exchange 2003

I have a Toshiba e-Studio2820c setup on a customers network.
All the features are working except for the scan to email. Whenever I try to send a scan, I immediately get the "failed to send email" message on screen, as well as a "2550" job status code (meaning mailbox unavailable as per top access). all the settings are correct as I have referrenced them with a canon scanner also on the network. Having set up many mfp's before, I suspect it has something to do with exchange server??? Has anyone ever come across an issue within the network environment that has affected scanning settings firewall, domain registration etc?

Something I do first when I come upon a scan to email issue when setting up or after install is to test it on a known good smtp server. I usually use the one at our shop that hosts our email, so I know immediately if the problem is network related or server related. If you can email using the known good server, the problem is with the smtp server or the info you have been given by the customer. Also, verify the usage of authentication. If I can, I like to have a profile set up just for scanning where the password doesn't change to minimize issues with password changes, email changes, etc.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.

      Yeah, what he said.

Especially the part about having a profile set-up on the server for the mfp.

In a nut shell here is what I would do:
1 Verify that the account info is correct and enabled on the exchange server.
2 Use the ip address of the server and not the server name. Even with DNS enabled and setup correctly I have had the name not work but the ip address did..
3 Remove the pop3 setting unless the server requires it, if it does not then do not enter this data.
4 Try to ping the exchange server and verify the smtp port number.
5 Verify the type of login (plain, login....) is set correctly.

          Hope this helps.
