Re: SMTP settings in a printer
Hi
One of our customers has settings configured before delivery, things like default colour / b/w copy setting, ntp server address etc
I had to do a few Kyocera pa5000 and didn't think there would be SMTP settings in a printer, I was wrong I could set the SMTP server address in the RUI ( command centre )
I thought SMTP was only for sending scans to email, so why would there be settings for this in a b/w printer
Authorized dealers use. KFS to monitoring and controlling copier and printer fleets. All is required is to enroll each machine at setup.
or you can create and Gmail account for your business devices and setup the alerts that you want to receive.
Good luck.

Re: SMTP settings in a printer
Ricoh re-brands a number of entry level Kyo products.
In the early days of plain paper copiers, Olivetti sold relabeled Minolta models. Olivetti and Lanier (before they became a Ricoh owned brand) sold Sharp. Olivetti merely changed label. Lanier redesigned the control panel. At one time Sharp had a model that didn't use heat to fuse the toner to the paper. It used cold pressure between 2 steel roller that clicked back together when the paper left. Worked except most customers did not like the noise.
Did you know that in the coated paper days SCM made a high speed model that used a xenon strobe system to expose the original. Built on the same frame as the Coronastat 55, the copy paper was fed down the vacuum back and when the lead edge hit the registration switch, the strobes fired. The paper never stopped. It used a strobe pack that had an output sufficient kill a person.
Currently Ricoh must have some agreement with BROTHER, since some monochrome models that we are recently installing of A4, such as the SP 230 model is clearly a renamed BROTHER device.
It is curious how manufacturers can reach these curious "alliances" to stock up on products in ranges that possibly by R+D, or by manufacturing cost do not compensate them to do it themselves."ALL WILL BE WELL" The battle cry that most inspires me to follow, from the DC's Comic character that I admire the most. And I feel satisfied with being better every day, and with using Gnu-Linux as my usual Operating System.Apologies for my English, it's not my mother tongue and I'm helping the translator.Comment

Re: SMTP settings in a printer
Not because you dont have knowledge, but because you seem to be quite toxic...
Appearantly some Users here have not unterstood what the problem and/or is. Instead of just blaming them on not being trained on 200 manufacturers, you could take 5 Minutes out of our time of the day and write down a explaination on what the issue is and how to crack it down. Will help a lot more people here.
That is, if you realy kno....Comment

It was funny when corona hit and kyocera wasnt able to produce more machines but olivetti had so many in stock, kyocera was buying back from olivetti what they sold them to brand it back againComment

I am in training still, in germany this is 3.5 years. Gift can confirm this, in my training - checkup which is in the 2nd year when our basic understandings from the school stuff is being tested, he was there as a "supervisor".
And i dont think it realy matters. If you dont have a need to touch a certain function of a machine, you dont have a reason to touch it. Maybe if you are a collection of old skin you can spend some time on that, but most of us got enough around their heads here i believe.
Plus he said that this is not what he usually does. He usually sits in the workshop and repairs stuff, not setting up new machines.
yes i agree the function is quite basic and the answer is easy to find in the manuals. But there is still no need for your "oh its all so emberassing for us "professionals" really.
No idea why you felt the need to send me the same text again via private message LOLLast edited by techsxge; 08-21-2023, 11:43 AM.Comment

Field Supervisor was set by the website, not me:

You're not wasting anyone's time. Also, tech's should feel free to post whatever they want without fear of being ridiculed. It's ridiculous. Just ignore him.Adversity temporarily visits a strong man but stays with the weak for a lifetime.Comment

Great advice apparently you can't help yourself
Apparently you have a lot of free time to waste
Once again thanks for wasting everyone's technical time with a post that was answered on the first page and adding nothingComment
