I have a dell 620 with a 60 GB HDD (company owned), that is at about 80% full. I have a 250 GB drive that I would like to stuff in there to free up some room. Any recommendations on how to accomplish this with out losing any of my installed programs, or without the WINXP install CD.

HDD Replacement on a dell 620 laptop.
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals. -
There are several different ways to accomplish that task. Either use a commercially available package like Norton Ghost as above, or and good back up suite like Acronis and create a set of back up media and change the drive and restore to the new drive. Alternatively, and I'll admit not for the faint of heart but it's fast and free, you can boot from a live Linux disk and use DD to clone the information from the old to the new. If your not the computer savvy type stick to the commercially available software.Comment

Agreed with the with the first two posts.
Although I would probably recommend Acronis as it is easier to use than Ghost if you haven't played around with this sort of software before. Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.Comment
