    fs 9530 windows 2003 server

I have an fs9530... it has the latest firmware and we are using the latest drivers.... it prints word documents and all other docs at speed including pdfs and tiffs ok when connected to a laptop via crossover cable...

once it gets put on a windows 2003 network... where the server is in st louis and the printer is in florida and the drivers are shared and located on the server... the tiff files printing slows down dramatically every one else still prints ok...

is there any thing that I can do... ???

Sounds like the TIFF files are huge, which is usually the case with TIFF images. I'd imagine there is some network lag over the WAN and becuase the TIFF files are most likely large in size, it's more noticeable.

Are they printing via port 9100 or LPR which is port 515? LPR is preferred for larger files.

And what print langauge, is it PCL or PostScript? I've noticed spool files are larger via PostScript than PCL.

Hopefully some others can provide some other advise.
