How to convert Xerox Docutech 135 Jobs

Customer has a Xerox Docutech 135, which is mecanically dead. The only reason for him to keep this Dinosaur is the fact, that there are some Files stored on the machine which he/we are not able to convert in another format, so that he can print it with his new bizhub1051 and 6501. After some researching i found hints to a Program named "RSA DTPrint", but regardless of the fact, that it must be run in a Sun/Solaris environment, its not availible anymore.

Anyone out here, that has done a file convert with success? or a least can give me a hint?

I assume you can export the files with print manager to a computer but there isn't a program that can open them?

What type file extension are they?

    Have you tried irfanview?

Yes i have tried irfanview at first, i even load the files to a hexeditor to see, if there are some konwn headers but to no avail
I have taken a screenshot to show you, how a docujob looks like:

I assume, that the first files are the single sides of the document, and the job file, job data acd jobs links index tells the mashine how to arrange them, what resolution and so far..

Maybe you will have better luck finding the RDO2CDL export tool.

No one ever found a solution to this problem? How unfortunate.

                No, never...
but i am still in hope, that this beast dies eternally with its boots on; so the customer is forced to get a new mashine

Definitely agree!!! These things are going to be around for a long time...they already have been. If Xerox ever got anyone that wasn't half a moron to run the company for a while, they'd bring these things back and get rid of a lot of what they came out with since!

I'd rather put in a little effort to sell one machine once, have it last for decades and do a hundred million plus pages than try to come back to a customer 10 different times to try and sell 10 different machines that maybe will do 10 million pages each.

It's got to make more economic sense to make a lot of one machine with parts and supplies than a new series every few years.

                      RDO Print

Had something like 10k RDO files that had to be converted to postscript when we bought a bunch of Ricohs last year. This was suggested by EFI and I don't recall too many problems with it.

But thank you very much for your effort anyway

Re: How to convert Xerox Docutech 135 Jobs

RDO and docujobs are different proprietary Xerox formats.
So what works with RDO conversion will not work with docujobs and vice versa.

I work at Xerox and our group does conversion to PS or PDF for both RDO and docujobs.
Docujobs are converted to ps/pdf via something we used to sell called Docujob Converter.
You can't by them anymore, but we do offer the conversion service for a fee.

If you are or your customer are interested then please let me know.

Hoepfully links are acceptable here. This is for the group i belong to.
Conversion info is under solutions testing.

There is a program that we used for years that converts Docublob to useable software. It is called Docutech converter and is available at this time. We used it to convert Docublob from DT135 to jobs that could be used on 6135 machines.
