set up scan on old Konica 7020 - IP-421

I'm trying to remember how to set up scan on an old 7020, can't remember user name and password

It has been awhile but I think the password is sysadm

Exactly, sysadm.

Of course, the ability to scan is dependant on the optionals installed on the machine. You'll need a suitable IP controller and, if I'm not mistaken, a HDD on the IP.
