CS-4035 Scanner File Utility \ Scan Problem

One account only has the two workstations. Just going to set up the SFU on em no big deal. Well I get there and set things up and first I get a "Folder destination settings" error once then communication errors. I have checked and double checked the settings for everything (been there 3 times so far trying stuff) everyone has the right persmissions(folders wide open) im able to ping the computers from the hub its on (hub --> wireless print server --> into network) i have the latest SFU and firmware on the NIC card... i need some thoughts TIA

oh the machine on focusing on is just XP btw

Is this the same as a KM 4035? if it is remember that this unit required 2 Network ports. one for print and the other for scanning. if the scanner is on the network, check your firewall setting to allow the SFU.

yup 2 network ports, thats the reason for the hub right before the wireless print server. everything was disabled when testing. Firewalls, antivirus, spyware, 3rd party firewalls everything.....scanners on the network and it responds to pings from computers

I haven't worked on these for a long time, but I do remember on that ended up being the scan DIMM. you were able to some times to use IP address rather then host name, but it would drop out right in the middle of a scan.
were you able to scan if you used a cross-over cale to you laptop?

well i do think the first time i was out there (months ago since scannings not a high priority for them, but im at the point now where this is bothering me so bad im gonna figure it out) it scanned to my laptop just fine. problem is the last time i went out there to try it via cross-over the driver for my NIC card on my laptop somehow disappeared and rendered my laptop useless for the time being and i wasnt going to take time to mess with my laptop while at the account so... im using static ips all the way around just to avoid any dns issues. im really starting to lean on trying a new scan card for the machine just to see what happens...

Do you have email scanning working? this is to see if you scan DIMM is working.
I do agree though. At some point, shotgunning is the only choice you have.

its a smaller account so emails really a no go. i mean for testing purposes i could probably set something up but the problem is i would either A. have to set up some type of local mail server (for 2 workstations lol) or B. find an outside provider that still runs port 25 since most providers now are running ssl ports and im pretty sure theres no way to change that port on the cs-4035 from a machine stand point. im pretty sure i had it running from my laptop with the SFU now that i think about it. there only a few blocks away maybe my best bets just to stop by when they need something scanned and ill bring it back to the shop and email it to them lol

Sorry buddy, I think it would be easier if you just took maybe a controller of a working machine & test it that way.

You may want to check the SFU version you downloaded at the account. I believe the listing on KMA is incorrect in that ver 4.something[latest listed] is actually for the Task/Alphas(FTP) & you want the ver 3.something for the Falcon IIs. It may explain why the SFU worked on your laptop.
                        .....Just a thought...
