SMB Scanning from Ricoh 2051 to Win 7 64bit

    Hi guys,

Having a hell of a time getting this 2051 to scan to the Windows 7 64 bit. Posting this just in case I'm missing something and another set of eyes might catch.

    1. Updated firmware for copier to the latest ver.
    2. Ceated share on the PC, with everyone having god rights permissions.
    3. Changed authentication level to LM to send NTLM respose
    4. Disable 128 encryption.
    5. turned off firewall. (after allowing incoming connections to Domain, privet, and public firewall setting by themselves)
    6. Created a different user with rights to the shared folders.
    7. Removing the anti-virus software. (just in case it was blocking communication somehow)

I think those were the major setting changes that i did. I may have tried some other setting but can't remember all of them.

Anyhow, I took my Win 7 32 bit laptop, crossover to the scanner with the same setting i did above and it works. I even turned on all the firewalls and it still work. I hook up to the customers network, still works.

If anyone has any other ideas, I would love to hear it.

    Thanks

This issue was discussed in another thread to some degree on a KM series machine for SMB scanning. There was much speculation as to how to resolve it there.

In the end, I think it had to do with the following settings. This configuration allowed me to see shares across my personal network at home. Each zone has its own customizable settings.

Also, if you are using a home edition of Win7, that can also lead to network issues, at least from some anecdotes I have read around the net on the issue.
