Ricoh 1224 C network scanning HELP

    Hello everybody,

I just bought (second hand) a RICOH 1224C multifunction and I don't know how to scan to others network users. I connected to wirelles router and for printing it working fine.
I have another multifunction device Brother MFC 8880 DN and after installing software, when I scan something I have this option for network scanning: Scan to: "John", "Jim". I wonder if there is a solution to make RICOH scanning like BROTHER.

    Many thanks.

You could use scan to email. on this unit, you use the web-interface to enter your email server setting.

      Thank you for your posts.
Now I have a problem with Acrobat X and type 1232 driver (for Ricoh 1224C).
I have a multifunctional Ricoh Aficio 1224C, and I installed the driver (Type 1232 Scanner). When I select the scanner for Ricoh (Type 1232 Scanner) adobe stops responding and I'm not able to scan. My OS is Windows 7 32 bit.I tried to reinstall the driver and same problem. On my computer I have a brother multifunctional and it works fine.
Can anyone help me? Thank you. Please see the pictures attached.

Acrobat might be locking up while trying to communicate with the device. Your wireless router might be able to handle printing, but an advanced function like scanning might not be supported.

Is this an expensive wireless router (~$100) or a cheap one (less than $50)?

You have to spend some money to get a wireless router that support things like IPSec, PPTP, L2TP, and SSL. I'm not sure exactly what layer TWAIN scanning uses but it might be your wireless router. Can you try with "wired" connection like a crossover cable or switch?

Thank you D_L_P for your post. This is the router I use: Linksys Wireless-G WRT54GL Broadband Router Reviews and Accessories | [PriceGrabber.com (Linksys WRT54gl).
Yesterday I installed acrobat X on computer with Windows XP SP3 and it works fine to scanning on ricoh with acrobat. I think is something in Windows 7.
I didn't tried with wired connection.
I tried to install same driver used in Windows XP for ricoh, in Windows 7 and same problem....
I don't know what is the problem...

              Have you tried this...

You are trying to scan to folder right?, enable the built in admin account (disabled by default) and create a password for it.If u do not create a password it wont work. Then create the shared folder on ur pc and make sure administrator has full access and also on the security tab.

Make sure to set the SMB folder authentication on the Copier to authenticate to ur pc using the administrator and the password u created and also the path to ur share
