IRC3220 not found with scangear on XP, W7 firewall OFF

On IRC3220 with scangear 2.61 on PC with XP (or W7)
I am able to ping IRC3220 and I can ping the PC from the IRC3220 in CMD windows.
Trying to have scangear to see the IRC3220 always fails even with specific IP.
Can someone point out what I am missing?
    Thanks

does the 3220 have a fiery rip attached? if this is the case, you need the "fiery remote scan" tool

      Thanks for the response.
This unit does not have a fiery unit.

Are you using the "color" scangear or the b/w scangear. I believe it has to have the color to work.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

Also create an exception on the Windows DEP for the scangear as this sometimes blocks scangear from picking up the machine!

What other anti-virus do they have installed.

Also for the hell of it..

Why don't you check sevice mode>LVL2>Copier>Option>Body>NW-SCAN

            0: Don't permit

1: Permit (Invalid when UFR board or open interface board isn't connected.)

If you see the scan tab chances are its enable.

Have you tried flashing the machine?

Not sure if you have tried this.

Registering ScanGear Tool in [Exceptions] in Windows Firewall
              - For Windows 7:

              3. In [New Inbound Rule Wizard], select [Program] → click [Next].
              4. Select [This program path] → click [Browse] → select the file below → click [Next].
              %ProgramFiles%Canon\Color Network ScanGear\SgTool.exe

              5. Select [Allow the connection] → click [Next].
              6. Select only [Private] → click [Next].
              7. Enter a name in [Name] → click [Finish] to close [New Inbound Rule Wizard].

Registering a UDP port to [Exceptions] in Windows Firewall
              - For Windows 7:
              1. Click (Start) → [Control Panel] → [System and Security] → [Windows Firewall] → [Advanced Settings].
              2. Select [Inbound Rules] in the [Windows Firewall with Advanced Security] sheet → click [New Rules].
              3. In [New Inbound Rule Wizard], select [Port] → click [Next].
              4. Select [UDP] → enter 56338 in [Specific local port] → click [Next].
              5. Select [Allow the connection] → click [Next].

              7. Enter a name in [Name] → click [Finish] to close [New Inbound Rule Wizard].

              Hope this helps
