    Problem with Kyocera KM-3035 and File Utility and Address Editor software

    I am trying to setup the MFP to scan to a computer. I have a Kyocera KM-3035. I have installed the File Utility software and the Address Editor software on an XP machine which is the same machine that the files should be stored on. On the Scanner File Utility I click on the details button and it is not showing any scanners connected. When I connect to it through the Address editor I can see the settings of the scanner but when I try to save anything it is telling me that it can not connect to the scanner. Also under the connect tree it is not listing the scanner. I am at a complete loss here. Why is the computer not able to connect to the scanner and save data?

    With the file utility you have to manually setup a receiving directory on the computer and ensure that the names of the computer matches the name in the setup on the scannner interface. I find that the scanner utilty doesn't always see the computer in the scanner utility when you are setting it up. It actually functions closely to a dos app.

        @WYZEGUY,

        Hi, I checked your instructions, are you sure they are ok?

        I think the address should be added under "Scan to PC destinatinon list", the sender list is for scan to email????

        Regards,
        Robbert

          The "Address of Address Book Installed PC" field in the sender list gets populated with the IP or hostname of the PC that you want to scan to. When you hit the "Save at User PC" button on the console after picking your name (or the name of the person/pc that you'd like to scan to) the MFP uses that IP or hostname to contact the file utility running on that computer. You're welcome to populate the "Scan to PC Destination List" as well, and that info will be used in the "Address Book" that can be accessed inside the "Scan to PC" function but my experience has been that people largely prefer to just walk up to the MFP, hit the Scan button, hit the Scan to PC button, pick their name and hit Save at User PC. It eliminates a couple button pushes. Probably 99% of the installs I've done in the last 6 years have been set up in that fashion and it works just fine

            @wyzeguy,
            Thanks for your reply, I will have a go at your solution and see if it
            makes live ( scanning) more easier!

            Regards, Robbert
