I don't think this machine has SMB function. This unit uses a Scan file utility to allow it to scan to folder.

the Windows Firewall is the problem, you must add programm "nscatcom.exe" or the port 37100 switch free in Windows Firewall.

I assumed your customer is using windows Xp or Vista ?

[ If your are using scan File Utility ]

          1. Make sure the file utility is running and active down on the windows taskbar. If active it will be green and not red/pink.

          2. Make sure the Scan-to-folder file name is set in the file utility :
2.1 Right click the file utility on the taskbar and hit stop
2.2 Click "configure" on the file utility and click new or edit to check the file path is correct.
2.3 Check the dialog edit box number match's the WIM address book number for that user.
2.4 Right click the file utility on the task bar and click start to restart the file utility again.

          3. Make sure your scan-to-folder is in the windows root directory and has full sharing allowed, else give if full path details.

          4. In the scanner WIM address book under the users make sure the "save to" number matches the folder number you used in the "file utility" setup folder procedure as in step 2.3 above.
4.1 Make sure at least one WIM address book is located on one of the network machines and the copier points to that machine.

          5. Go into your firewall an allow the scan "file utility" to pass through the firewall.

          6. Check your customer is not running two firewalls and one is blocking the other.

          7. Check the customer hasn't change from static IP in their router to DHCP ?

          8. Check passwords etc.....

          9. And the list goes on......

          10... and on with windows7 ......
