Infotec IS2320 (MP2000) not printing on windows 7

Customer has just had new network PCs all using windows 7 and the IT guy can't get the machine to print, he can ping it but it just won't print. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Check to make sure he is using the proper driver, that is to say 64 bit vs 32 bit. How many workstations? Is the printer loaded on a server and then shared? or, installed locally on each PC? have him try installing one locally on one of the PC's. Have you hooked up your laptop directly and tested the machine?

He's using the correct driver jonhiker, 32 bit, he's tried MP2000 and 2000L drivers and connecting to a local PC via USB, still no joy. The machine was printing ok until the upgrade to Windows 7 so i'm assuming it's Windows 7 that is causing the problem, I was just hoping to hear from anyone that had either had the same problem or managed to get one of these on the network using Windows 7. I seem to remember a few years back when these came out we sold one to a customer using Vista and we just couldn't get it to print at all, in the end it turned out to be the network card, there were 2 versions of MP2000s with different network cards, swapped the machine for the different version and it's still working today. There's nothing on the serial number plate of my machine to identify which version it is, all i've got is Infotec IS2320, whereas on the MP2000 we had the trouble with a few years ago there was an LN I think on the serial number plate of one of the versions. If we've got the machine with the crap/dodgy network card then i'm looking for any suggestions on how to get it working with Windows 7, if it's possible that is. As long as I can find out one way or the other, if it can't be done then we'll look at upgrading.

Windows 7, when creating printer ports for new drivers, likes to use LPR instead of RAW in certain circumstances...

Check the print port settings and change to RAW 9100, which is more often than not, standard fair for print ports.

Thanks for that, don't know if that's been tried yet so i'll look into it.
