how do you all handle service tickets at each service call? in addition to filling out paper tickets at every call, we have ads. we are able to visit a web site on our windows mobile phones where we can dispatch, arive, and close service calls. when we close the service calls we manually enter each part. i was wondering if anyone has figured out how to use their smart phones camera to scan the bar code on the part and use that to enter the part number rather than manualy typing the part number. i've also got an android phone. i haven't been able to figure out how to do it on windows mobile or android.
i have a bar code reader on my android phone and i can scan bar codes on parts but i havent figured out how to tie that in to the internet browser to enter data. i also have a bar code reader on my windows mobile phone but i think the camera isn't high enough resolution to read the bar code.
