    Hi
I have seen kaspersk block scanner before, you should be able to add an exception within the software settings. You could also disable kaspersky for a few minutes and test scanning which would help in troubleshooting.

the communication with printing is different. in scanning, the copier is asking for permision to add to or alter a folder. Anti-virus programs have been known to block this function. as stan780953 said, try turning off the firewall, if that works, then look to add an exception through kaspersky.

Have the customer create a generic user name on the computer with a password. Then once the account is created, have them use the user name and password as the authentication information to reach a shared folder.

Also, as Eric1968 said above, make sure the network profile is set up as a home or work connection instead of a public one. The network profiles in Vista and W7 allow the user to block access to shared resources on the computer in case they are not in their regular work environment (this is primarily for laptops and other portable computers). By default, network connections are always set to start as public (untrusted) to prevent unauthorised access. It may be as simple as changing the network setting.

You are not going to believe what was the solution....You have to enable password protection on Vista! It's terrible.Vista Sucks. But on Seven it was a piece of cake to fix it.Thank you all for your help.
