    2020D Destination List Won't Update

Hello folks. This is my first time using a multi-function device and while I'm a quick learner and know a fair bit about IT, I'm feeling horribly unqualified to manage it and set it up.

My organization, a nonprofit with very few resources (No IT person, computer and software donated) acquired an Aficio 2020D and are using it with a standalone laptop (XP SP2). Our goal is to scan large quantities of documents directly to folders on this machine (no network drives or shared folders) and reproduce them on-demand. There is no network infrastructure, no internet, and no server. Because of the large quantity of scanning/printing, we opted for a heavy duty printer/scanner over the "office depot type" ones.

I've been able to successfully connect the two via a Linksys router (using DHCP), installed ScanRouter V2 on the laptop, set the I/O device, add a destination, and started services (all on my own to boot!).

However, after everything gets started and I update the destination list, the 2020D freezes. It displays "Updating Destination List... Please Wait" but never finishes. There is only one destination added. How long should this normally take?

The firewall on the Laptop is disabled. The IP Addresses and Gateway have been verified. The manual isn't helpful, either.

This would be much easier if I could scan via USB or use a crossover cable, but alas. My deadline for getting these things scanned is approaching and I've not made much progress--but not for lack of trying.

I would sincerely appreciate any assistance or tips.

Sorry, no. We just got the 2020D over the weekend. I have never used it before. I'm am doing the initial set and followed the instructions here:

      https://www.copytechnet.com/forums/a...etup-help-.pdf

But it never actually updates the destination list.

      Thanks!

Yesterday I went in to the office where we have the computer/scanner and turned on the power for both.

I pressed "Scanner" and then selected my destination 001 and it worked. I'm not sure what I did (or didn't do), but it works!

Welcome to ScanRouter world!!!! Where the strangest things happen!!! LOL
Meaby thats way Ricoh does not support ScanRouter any more. If you lose your driver... bye bye scanner!!
Probably when you shut down the machine it returned to normal.
