    Default printer settings

has any one had problems with server 2008 and win 7 workstations, where the default settings on the shared print driver under advanced tab are not picked up by the win 7 workstations. I have had to set the default setting on each work station, were in server 2003 it picked up the settings from the server.
    thanks

Have you tried making the settings by going into the printer properties and setting what you want as defaults from the Preferences tab instead of Advanced/Printing Defaults? There's been a few times where setting it this way seems to work a little better...

Make sure you check the permissions on the driver on the server.

Yep we have had some success with changing permissions, but not always, I just cant seem to find a constantly successful way of getting it to work. In 2003 server you set the defaults and 99% of the time it worked, win 7 and server 2008 seem to be a lot more security conscious to the point its a pain

          Cheers Jim
