KM 118MFP scan to email & smb

Help please...km1118mfp worked perfect scan to email and folder (smb) until the client changed his network to a domain (workgroup before). His email is now configured with a gmail account and the machine just fefuses to send emails out. the machine is registered within the domain and the password is set not to expire. furthermore all the necessary details pertaining to the network is configured onto the machine ie:domain name, dns, wins ip's. folder is shared with everyone having rights to it for smb. whether you authenticate or not for emailing, the results stays the same. the timeout was also increased from the standard 10 seconds to 90 seconds without any luck.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Don't know that machine, but if it doesn't support SSL over SMTP it will not work with gmail.

See if you can get administrator rights assigned to the copier's domain account: that way you ensure it has read/write access to any folder it connects to. Even if it has rights to view a share now, it may not have the correct access to change the folder (i.e. read access only).

For the GMAIL SMTP you would make sure you set the correct port number:
        - 587: for TLS
        - 465: for SSL
...and make sure your user or account name is USERNAME@gmail.com or USERNAME@YOURDOMAIN.com
But wait, this is a Kyocera... it doesn't support SSL/TLS & won't work with GMAIL. Set up an account with GMX.com. Its free & doesn't require SSL or TLS. [port 25]

For the SMB scanning, what is the error code? Try: \\DOMAIN\HOSTNAME for the hostname.
