    Canon IR 5070 - Scanning to file and email

    I was wondering if anyone could link me to a step-by-step set of instructions that will help me set up our company's Canon IR 5070 copiers to scan to folders on individual computers as well as scan to emails. I'm absolutely new to this and have no idea where to start. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

    From the RUI:
    Enter copier's IP address in web browser-> Additional Functions-> Custom Settings-> E-Mail/I-Fax

    SMTP Server -
    Enter your Exchange server's Ip address
    E-mail Address-Enter any e-mail address, example ourcopier@mydomain.com (this will show up as the sender)
    POP Server- Leave blank
    POP Address- Leave blank
    POP Password- Leave blank
    Auth./Encryption
    User/Password-
    Valid user/pass for exchange server
    Allow SSL[SMTP]- if applicable

    In the past I haven't had any problems using SMTP with an exchange server, most want the SSL though. If you need to change the SSL port it is done in service mode.
    Scan to folder you need to add entries in the addressbook:

    Host Name - This is the name of the computer on the network hosting the shared folder (different from the logon name for the computer).

    Path - This is the url for the folder or the part in bold : \\hostname\shared folder.

    User Name - This is the user credentials to authenticate and access the shared folder.
    Password - Self explanatory.
