    Toshiba E-Studio 3511 Wireless

Is anyone familiar with the adapter required and setup to use an ES3511 on a wireless network? It is a stand-alone machine with two or three XP users looking to beam print jobs over their wireless network. Can they assign an internal IP address to the printer and access it that way?

The Toshiba network client may make this easy but I haven't installed it yet. Just looking for tips & tricks to make it hassle free from someone who's done it already. Especially what's the best wireless adapter for the Toshiba.

    Thanx in advance...

Toshiba sells a wireless module for this machine. It is option code GN-1010 Wireless adapter. There is an antenna that needs to be purchased with this as well.

Other than that you will need to assign the printer an Ip address and attach a wireless access point and set that up accordingly. Load the print driver and point it to the ip address assigned to the machine (not the access point like some IT people tell you) and you should be ready to go..
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

Thanks Mr. Spock...I guess we were hoping for a cheaper solution. You get spoiled when "wireless adapters" for most everything cost less than $100, but a copier version sells for almost $500 [GN1010].

A local Toshiba tech mentioned he's using a "gaming adapter" to do copier wireless on these, but he hasn't given me any details yet. I'll pass it along if it works!

A wireless print server ($50-$100) will do the same thing just make sure it has an rj45 on it.

you can also get a Wireless bridge (Configure it so it talks with their Wireless router) and then just assign an IP address to the copier and set it up just like if it was on the network.

the last time i checked for a wireless bridge it was like $84 if you want to save money you could just get a wireless print server. they should be like $50.

          Take care

              Easy and cheap

Go down to your local electronics store and purchase a 'Wireless Game Adapter' from the networking section. It's meant for connecting game systems for LAN parties but it works great with copiers. I have one on a customers E3510c and it works great.
