    Mac printing to CLJ 3600n

I have several users running Macs who thanks to their Purchasing department have HP CLJ 3600s. The issue is that none of the Macs have an internal driver for any of the host based HP printers. They're government so the chance of upgrading the printers anytime soon is slim to none.

I've tried installing the drivers off Linux printing to no avail. Is there a compatible driver in OS X for another model or manufacturer, or a way of getting the actual driver for 10.5 and 10.6?

go to apple support. type in HP print drivers in the search. you will find a site that will have the 10.6 or later drivers for HP printers that don't show up. it a big file.

don't know if this link will work. HP Printer Drivers v.2.6 for Mac OS X v10.6

    hope it work

    good luck

Looks like it worked for my 10.6 machines. Any idea if the same update will work on 10.5, or a 10.4 machine?

Might work there too. but i think these drivers were for the OSx 10.6.

You can get the other OSX versions from the HP site.

An update on this one. The 10.6 driver works perfectly, however the 10.5 driver on the Apple website does not support IP printing to the 3600! Instead of telling the user to replace the POS (which I wanted to do), I shared the printer from the 10.6 machine and was able to have the 10.4 and 10.5 Macs in the office print from that. Looking on the Apple website, there's been a lot of people with similar issues with this printer.

I guess that's what users get with a cheap host-based printer like this one.

I agree, host based HP drivers leave a bunch to be desired.

Two years ago I ran into an issue with one of these little "gems" with a printer accounting package. Because the software couldn't make heads or tails of the data stream, as it wasn't PCL or PostScript, we were forced to not include the little POS in our list of monitored machines.
