    Start here.

Get Vista and Samba to work - Blogs - Code Monkey Business - Builder AU

Vista like Win2k3 probably has 'digital signed packets' enabled by default in the local security policy as well which I don't think the Aficio 2022 supports.

Some models do require a firmware update to get scan to SMB working correctly on Vista but I can't see any RTBs for this model.

Works on XP not on Vista, that pretty much explains it. BTW what flavor of Vista ? and do you have the folder permissions set correctly?

I'm having this issue with a Savin C3528 scanning to a Vista box (unknown version)

Going to attempt to do firmware to the machine and check to see if Vista is blocking non digitally sign packets like Win2k3.

There is custom firmware available for a 2022 to allow SMB scanning on a Windows 2003 server. Most of Ricoh's 2000 series machines have some knd of custom firmware available for it.
If it's a Vista issue, I have no idea what to tell you. The last time I saw a computer with Vista on it, the operating system was still called Longhorn...

            vista

            Have you tried this

You cannot access a shared network resource that is hosted by a Windows Vista-based computer if the SMB request packet exceeds the MTU size

I've tried that at another customer site and I still had the same scan to Vista problems. I think that machine was a C3535 Savin.

I have a word document that says to go into the Local Security Policies - Local Policies - Security Options. In the right pane, scroll to Network Access: Restrict anonymous access to Named Pipes and Shares. Change this to Disable.

You should be able to bring this up by typing secpol.msc at the run command.

Hope that helps, since I haven't had this problem... yet.

I had a problem with Windows Vista last week, and this was the issue,
I was logged in as a regular user that had admin rights and everything looked like it was ok, try to log in as administrator make sure that windows file sharing is enabled then try it again and that should work with the Vista

                      Good Luck!!!

                        Welcome to the club.

Is the Vista computer on a domain network? I've come across instances where even other PC's on the network cannot properly access a shared folder on the Vista machine.

Try creating a local user/password on the Vista computer and use that user/password to access the shared folder.

Our regional Ricoh rep told us that vista home version wont work. I forget why. I am old.

If that is a 2022 set up guide for scanning, what are the chances of getting a copy? Later, Claire

Even though this thread is now old I wanted to post how I got this working with Server 2003 which has a very simular security policy as Vista.

We have a Ricoh 2200 that could not send a scanned document to a 2003 server but could fine to XP. I needed to do 2 different things to get the document to the 2003 Server

First Enable Netbios over TCP/IP in the TCP/IP advanced properties under the WINS tab. Don't chance it on default, just enable it so you know its on.

2nd and thanks to this thread Server 2003 and Vista/2008 have SMB Signing mandatory or you can't communicate with the server. For me I did it in a group policy but a vista local security settings will be the same. Go to the security settings, security options, and then scroll and find "Microsoft Network Server: Digitally Sign Communication (Always)" and set that to disabled. Do not leave it as not configured or enabled.

The Ricoh was immediatly able to send the document once I took off mandatory SMB signing.

Thanks to the poster who mentioned it, it was a light bulb that went off in my head as soon as I read that.

Hopefully this helps anyone else out in a simular situation with these old copiers that do not support recent technology.
