hello guys, one of my clients would like to use "scan to email" feature in MXM363N to send one email to multiple different email address, is there something that i can setup on the webpage that will allow me to do this?thanks in advance
Yes, you can create groups if the emails are always sent to the same recipients, or in the address book on the copier you can just go through the complete list and select each one individually.
groups can be set through the web page of the mfp. Good luck
If you need more info on how to set up the group pm me and I will get you instructions when I get a chance.
Depending on the type of email server your customer is using, then you could also get their IT people to create a distribution list. This will do the same thing as an email group from the copier, but can also be used on multiple machines, not just the one in question.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.
Hate scan to email; you're at the mercy of their email server and security policy and, when something changes on the network end resulting in failed scans, they blame your machine. Also, mail servers have a tendency to see the default subject line (usually timestamped - 20111013134521 for 2011, October 13th, 13:45 and 21 seconds) as spam and shuffle it off to the junk bin.
While it's a handy sales feature, you're best off convincing them that scanning to a local folder and then attaching to an email gives them more control and will likely result in fewer headaches.
If they do push the issue, make sure they're paying for network support instead of just copier support.
“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'” (Isaac Asimov)

This is actually my prob ,my mx363n was working fine for 2 years ,this summer they change their email server and since then i keep on having fail scans,do you have any hints how to bypass the default subject line.
Oh by the way i forgot to mention that they have an
hp M4345 that work just fine if ever someone from hp read this ,i would be please to know what is the difference between hp and other mfp.
If the email server has been updated from Exchange 2003 to 2007 or 2010, then you will need the IT people to whitelist the machine. It is quite common for machines to be forgotten about and left out of the SMTP Relay Whitelist.
If you have access to the Exhange 2007/2010 Server (this is assuming that they are running Exchange) then do the following:
1. Open up the Exchange Management Console
2. Expand the Server Configuration field
3. Click on Hub Transport
4. Down the bottom, you should see the recieve connectors. There maybe one there for SMTP Relay already
5. Create a new Receive Connector
6. Call it something like SMTP Relay
7. Leave the standard settings in the next section
8. In the Remote Network Settings, remove the 0.0.0.0-255.255.255.255 then add the IP address of your machine
9. Click on New then Finish
This has now created the connector, but we now need to edit the settings:
1. Right click SMTP Relay (or what you called it) and go to properties
2. Go to Authentication and ensure that only "Externally Secured (for example, with IPsec)" is ticked
3. Go to the Permission Groups tab and make sure that only "Exchange Servers" is ticked and then click OK
This will work for any brand of copier as they all use SMTP Relaying with by default in the new versions of Exchange, is disabled and only enabled on a case by case basis.
The other way around this with exchange is to have a mailbox setup and atached to a users and then enter in all the credentials for that account into the copier. Alot harder, but works none the less.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.
