    canon ir 2270 cant ping

    Hi,
I have connected the 2270 via cross cable to my laptop.
WHEN I connect the cross cable, the network connection is establised, but it doesnot ping.
I have given the Ip in matching series. The USB printing is fine .
Actually, it was connected in a network,i couldnot print ,so i tired with a cross cable and my laptop.
I get the message on the bottom of the screen as 'check the network connection and the default key is corrupted'.

Another doubt is that if the copier is connected in a network where all the computers are connected VIA DHCP,which IP address must be given to the copier .

    Any help is appreciated.

Double check the network settings if they are correct you may have a bad nic. Restart the copier to finalize any changes. The messages you gave indicate that there is no communication to the nic or from the nic to the main PCB. Even if settings are wrong there should be some communication and message will not show.

Another thing is to do a mmi clear. This will remove all network settings, allowing you to reinstall settings as a new setup.

If you are going to connect with a crossover cable then the IP configurations have to be the same except the last series of digits for the IP address. If it is on DHCP how did you do this?
I would check your machine IP configuration and load the drivers to the static IP address. Leaving everything on DHCP will cause you problems like you are having right now.

you do not need a N boot rom to hang it on the network or ping the device.
