    Copystar CS-2550 Staying Offline

Have a Copystar CS-2550 that's been connected to a static IP network for a while and now it shows it's offline with nobody able to print to it. I pinged it and it says host unreachable, but the thing is on and still copying and printing faxes that are incoming.

Any ideas what to do next?

The printer side of the machine may be turned "offline".. To check just press the "PRINTER" key on control panel.. It should say "Ready" at the top.. If it does not, use the up & arrows to move the selector arrow to "GO".. Press "ENTER".. It should now display "READY" at the top of the display screen.. Try to print to it..
-------------If it still does not print---------------
Connect a computer or a Laptop to it via a cross-over ethernet cable and manually configure the laptop's ip address so it is on the same IP scheme as the copier.. This way the only things on your "network" is the machine, laptop, and cross-over cable.. Try to ping or print to it then..
    • If it still does not print, you just ruled out the existing ethernet cable, the customer's network and their p.c.'s all in one whack.. So you know it's something with the machine like the print card may be faulty or something else going on with machine..
    • If it does print, then you know it's definitely not the machine so it has to be something with the customer's ethernet cable, network, p.c.'s or something like that..
    Hope it helps.. Good Luck..

check to make sure you have a green link light on the nic.
bypass any 5 port switches that the network cable is running through.

go to the printer driver settings, ports tab, configure port, uncheck the SNMP status enabled box and see if that helps.
