    Scan to Godaddy webmail

I tried to setup scan to godaddy webmail from a Canon IR 1025 IF without success. Tried port 80 etc. A colleague told me that godaddy does not work with MFPs but I doubt it. Anyone has setup scan to godaddy webmail please?

    Thanks in advance!

I can set up outlook with godaddy but I haven't mastered setting up mfps with them. I too would be curious how to get it to work, if you can.

Actually, my business uses goDaddy mail and we have no problems at all scanning to email with an MP 171. Port 80 is an HTTP port, not SMTP so that's an issue right off the bat. The user name is the full email address you're configuring to scan from and then the password for that account. SMTP server is smtpout.secureserver.net using port 25.

The best method of setup is to use a legit email address on the account as a destination and sender and have the user(s) send the email to themselves.

        Hello rthonpm,

        Thanks for your info.

Initially I tried port 25 but it did not work then I tried port 80 ( See below)
Setting up Your Email Address with POP | Go Daddy Help | Go Daddy Support
Outgoing PortWithout SSL - one of the following 25, 80, 3535

Of course the destination is a valid email address but the sender (the email address of the machine) is not.
The machine interface does not have the option for a password .
What do you mean by user name please?

        Thanks

GoDaddy's SMTP servers require authentication to send mail. If you're trying to scan to a GoDaddy account from another address you'll need to use that provider's information to reach the GoDaddy address. I'm assuming you're trying to use a GoDaddy SMTP server to send mail from the MFP. In which case:

You will need to use a legitimate GoDaddy email address as the sending email (I use our employee email addresses so that everyone can send to themselves or a client directly from the MFP).

Configure the MFP to use SMTP authentication: the user name for authenticating to the server is the email address, the password is the password for accessing webmail for that address. (If need be, if there are email addresses left for the account, create one for the copier and you can have everything use that account to authenticate). Without authenticating you will not be able to send through the server.
