Has there been an announcement about drivers and compatibility between windows 7 and windows 8. I specifically work on sharp machines but I didn't know if Microsoft has said what kind of legacy driver support windows 8 will have.

The word from Redmond has been that if it can support Windows 7, there will be no issues with Windows 8. Furthermore, the build number is still within the same range (NT 6x) as 7 so most applications will just see it as a patched version of Windows 7. -

i installed win 8 on my home computer over the weekend. everything went good until i tried to install a printer driver for a copystar 1820 mfp. The copystar install wizard would not open. gave wrong op system error. Ill keep trying. i havnt used the windows add printer wizard yet.Comment

Just keep in mind that windows 8 has not hit RC yet (i don't think anyway) so i might not be that smooth yetComment
