    Cannot email PDF, TIFF OK

I have an NEC3640, which is a rebranded Konica 361.

Odd problem, will email TIFF but errors out EA4226 when trying to scan PDFs.

No info to be found on that code.

Customer has two like machines, one works fine.

    I flashed machine, no help.

    Anyone seen/heard of this?

    Thanks!

Ok going to need a lot more info
    1. what is the SMTP info
    2. scanning to exchange or ISP mail server
    3. if exchange is it on site or remote

i will go ahead and guess that it is exchange i have had this before i am on the gold coast and spent 4 hours with a US it company telling them that their exchange was filtering it out and i was right. so what you need to do is check the exchange spam setting and you should be good.

you can also finding the SMTP server of the ISP and scan to an account outside your domain e.g
    • ISP Telstra( mail server mail.bigpond.com) set this in machine SMTP settings
    • set your domain email as the from address in machine if there is a error delivering the mail the ISP should reply to you saying why
    • scan to your gmail/hotmail account

the above will only prove that the machine is able to scan doing PDF
    hope this helps

Thank you for your thoughts and time.

As I said, there are two identical machines on site. I check settings side by side meticulously.

Eventually, I just swapped the MFP boards and it isolated the problem. I ordered a board, which should be covered under a warranty.
